The International Dark-Sky Association (IDA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 with the goal of preserving and protecting the night skies for present and future generations. The organization works to raise awareness about the impact of artificial light at night on the environment, wildlife, and human health, as well as the need for responsible outdoor lighting practices.
