As reported by The Weekly Sentinel in its October 22, 2021 issue, The Native Plant Trust is offering over 100 programs for the upcoming season. As explained by the Trust on its website, the Native Plant Trust is “the nation’s first plant conservation organization and the only one solely focused on New England’s native plants.”

The Trust is based in Framingham, Massachusetts, at Garden in the Woods, a renowned native plant botanic garden that attracts visitors from all over the world. Each year, our 25 staff members and many of our 1,500 trained volunteers work throughout New England to:

  • monitor, protect, and restore rare and endangered plants
  • collect and bank seeds for biological diversity
  • detect and control invasive species
  • conduct botanical and horticultural research
  • educate the public, from home gardeners to professional land managers

The Trust operates a native plant nursery at Nasami Farm in western Massachusetts and owns six rare plant sanctuaries in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont that are open to the public year-round.
