HEALTHY RIVERS OGUNQUIT and the Town of Ogunquit’s Sustainability committee are working together to give the Ogunquit community an increased understanding of where our stormwater goes. This is a necessary first step in trying to reduce the pollutants carried by our community’s stormwater runoff.
On June 8th, in honor of World Oceans Day, we kicked off our storm drain stencil project with this successful pilot downtown Ogunquit in front of the Dunaway Center. Since then, twelve storm drains have been stenciled this summer, with hopefully nine more to go by the end of August!
We are so grateful to Suzanne Williams, founding member of HEALTHY RIVERS OGUNQUIT, for her leadership and expertise, and to the Ogunquit Select Board for their enthusiastic support!
